Zia Records approached me with the project of putting out a record compilation to commemorate their 40th Anniversary, originally scheduled for release on Record Store Day 2020. All songs were selected from Arizona based artists during the time period of 1957 - 1971. The goal of the project was to represent the era of songs on the compilation while tying in the feel of the desert. Album art and gig posters have forever been a favorite of mine so it was an amazing opportunity to partner with such an awesome record store to help put this together. The design was so well received that Zia decided to use it for one of their shirts. A poster with a similar design was also scheduled but ultimately scrapped due to Covid restrictions on shopping in stores.

Hamster Labs was started at a point in my career when I didn't like design anymore. After 12 years in the industry, I was tired of trying and ready to give it all up. Yet, I knew I wanted to love it again. So I took the leap and started over. I've never screen printed before but was always fascinated over it as a medium. I knew I wanted to do this. Fast forward five years after plenty of mistakes and figuring it out, I couldn't be happier. I've had the opportunity to work with all kinds of amazing artists, musicians, companies and organizations. In doing so, I feel I've made a small impact on bringing awareness to screen printed posters as an art form to Phoenix. Hopefully, all this will continue for a long time.
