This project involved designing a logo for Visit Bay City, a tourism initiative aimed at promoting Bay City, Texas, and its surrounding areas—Matagorda, Palacios, and Sargent. The client wanted a logo that reflected the region's unique blend of country charm and coastal beauty, inviting visitors to experience all the area has to offer. The goal was to create a modern yet approachable design that captures the essence of the community while being visually appealing across different platforms, from print to digital.
The logo prominently features a pelican, a bird commonly associated with coastal life, symbolizing the region’s natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. The vibrant colors and bold typography help the design stand out, while the tagline, "Where Country Meets The Coast!" effectively communicates the appeal of Bay City as a destination that combines both rural and seaside experiences. The circular design incorporating Matagorda, Palacios, and Sargent highlights the interconnectedness of the region’s various attractions.
This project was significant for both my career and the client as it marked a key moment in Bay City’s efforts to boost tourism and establish a recognizable brand identity. It was an exciting challenge to balance the area’s diverse elements—country life, coastal charm, and community spirit—into a cohesive logo. By crafting a visually engaging design that captures the essence of Bay City, I contributed to the client’s goal of increasing visitor engagement and promoting the area as a prime destination for travel and exploration.
The success of this project reinforced my ability to create designs that effectively communicate a community’s values while appealing to a broad audience, making it a key highlight in my portfolio.
