This folding brochure has a dual purpose: it provides essential information on the City's arts and culture offerings while also featuring an inspirational poster on the back. We needed to find a format that would hold a lot of information while remaining portable and easy to share. The approach was to utilize an 8-panel format that differed from the standard trifold. The hues are inspired by our most recent public art piece, "Bloom Where You're Planted." Soft tones and wavy lines were employed to create a sense of calm among continual movement in our arts environment.

The growth of our state in terms of population and urban development over the last decade has influenced graphic designers to shift their designs from an old western town to a sophisticated desert lifestyle based on our visual interaction with nature and cultural roots. Even though we live in a dry inclement desert most of the year, our designs can provide an escape. Visually, as designers we can offer some internal balance in the minds of our audience to help give reprieve from a harsh environment while reading a piece of collateral that's inviting and fresh. I've learned to be inspired by the beauty of God's creation and employ everyday elements like the sun, water, earth, vegetation, wildlife and others to extract color palettes and beautiful natural shapes. This will help bring familiarity with our surroundings, a sense of belonging and transmit the brightness of our diverse community.
