This project was a year-long academic journey dedicated to exploring the critical issue of light pollution. As a recent graduate from ASU’s design school, I'm deeply passionate about the intersection of design and sustainability. This enthusiasm for making a positive impact on society profoundly influenced how I approached my design work and the various ways I expressed it.

For my senior thesis, which was the culmination of a year's worth of effort, I took on a multifaceted approach. This included creating a complex functional clock, meticulously planning the design of an exhibition, carefully crafting a book, and developing a polished web presence. At the heart of it all was the issue of light pollution—a problem where excessive artificial lighting disrupts the peacefulness of our nighttime skies. Much like noise pollution, light pollution represents a wasteful use of energy that has negative consequences and harms our environment.

The Senior Exhibition Show, organized entirely by students like me, served as a platform to showcase the results of our creative endeavors. It also aimed to educate the public about the social issues each of us had chosen to address. In my final exhibit, I used UV blacklight to create captivating illusions. The title I chose was a clever play on words, designed to draw people in, provide context, and encourage them to interact with the exhibit.
