American Prairie and Ken Burns honored Wynton Marsalis as the recipient of the 2020 Ken Burns American Heritage Prize during a virtual event on May 4, 2021. This event under normal circumstances is produced live in front of a live audience. However, the production of the Award ceremony pivoted to a virtual production in 2021 due to restrictions on live events brought on by Covid-19.
The client approached me to partner creatively to develop a visual backdrop for the show. I proposed virtual sets as a solution to encompass monologues, speeches, musical performances, see and say segments. The client approved the visual direction upon reviewing the initial set of style frames.
Once production started, I developed a pipeline to facilitate a multi-screen feed from edit to post.
Tucson Arizona has provided a fertile ground for me and my family. We relocated to Tucson from Washington, D.C. back in November of 2020. I have been living and running my practice with renewed energy and commitment. Soon after relocating, I transferred my AIGA membership to Arizona. I have had a great track record with AIGA and the various chapters I have been a member of. In the past year took part in the AIGA sponsored portfolio review, took the opportunity to share my experience with new talent from the region.
